Chairman Zhang Jian’an Meets with H.E. Jean-Pierre Bemba, Vice Prime Minister of DR Congo

On September 3rd, Zhang Jian'an, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Company, met with H.E. Jean-Pierre Bemba, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Transport of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), who was in China to attend the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. The two exchanged views on deepening cooperation, in the company of heads of relevant engineering departments and branch office in DR Congo of the CJIC.


H.E. Jean-Pierre Bemba highly commended the contributions made by CJIC in improving infrastructure, promoting local employment, and fulfilling social responsibilities in DRC. He said that CJIC was a powerful and reputable enterprise, the cooperation with which was being highly valued by the DRC government. He also expressed hopes that CJIC would continue to leverage its advantages and continuously participate in DRC's infrastructure construction, bring more excellent construction experience and advanced Chinese technology to Congo, while also promoting DRC's economic and social development.


Zhang Jian'an expressed his gratitude for Vice Prime Minister’s sparing time from his busy schedule for the meeting, and introduced the company's business development in DRC and the progress of its ongoing projects therein. He said that there were great prospects in DRC’s market, and CJIC would surely deliver all the ongoing infrastructure projects, including the Mbuji-Mayi Airport, with high quality and high standards, and strive to create more job opportunities for the local people, while also consolidating China-DRC friendship. He wished that the Vice Prime Minister and the DRC government would continue to render support and guidance to the company, to bring more practical outcomes into reality. 


Before this meeting, Zhang Jian'an and his delegation participated in the DR Congo-China Investment and Economic Forum.
