China Jiangxi International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. (CJIC), leading a consortium, has been formally awarded the contract for the Construction of Farkwa Dam and Access Road by the Ministry of Water of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Located in the Farkwa area of Dodoma, Tanzania's capital city, the Project involves the construction of:

l a roller-compacted concrete (RCC) gravity main dam, 1,185 m long and 32 m high;

l a saddle dam, 820 m long and 15 m high;

l a 16 km asphalt access road; and

l a spillway, grouting gallery and other ancillary structures.
