Heads of SADC attended handover ceremony of the Kazungula Bridge and OSBP project

On May 10th,Kazungula Bridge and One Stop Border Poster Facilities hold commissioning ceremony. Botswana President Masisi, Zambian President Lungu, African Union Rotating Chairman and Congo (DRC) President Tshisekedi, Rotating Chairman of Southern African Development Community and Mozambique President Nyusi, Zimbabwean President Mnangagwa , Vice President Mbumba of Namibia, Acting Prime Minister Masuku of Swaziland attended  cut the ribbon for the unveiling of the project.


In his speech, President Masisi thanked CJIC in particular, and highly affirmed the professionalism and professionalism shown by the contractor with no fear of challenges. He stressd that CJIC and all its employees have made every effort to overcome the adverse effects of the pandemic Covid-19 and achieved the completion of the project on schedule and presented it perfectly. It deserves our gratitude and respect.


OSBP project is located in Kazungula Town, Chobe District, northern Botswana, at the junction of the four countries of Botswana, Zambia, Namibia and Zimbabwe. It is the second tender section of the Kazungula Bridge project. The project consists of a one-stop border customs facility covering an area of 20 hectares, including a border crossing building, cargo clearance office building, cargo transit scanning facility, border police station, approach bridge roads, border roads and 7.5 kilometers of asphalt roads, and 16,000 square meters of concrete parking lot, etc. The operationalization of the one-stop border customs will not only effectively improve the efficiency of customs clearance, reduce the time of customs clearance, and help the development of logistics and economic trade in southern Africa, but also won the company a good reputation in Botswana and other southern African markets.
